Tummy Time

While Carter's head is getting very strong and so are his legs, this is a typical tummy time session for little man.  He will quickly find his thumb and want to go to sleep.  While it is incredibly adorable, not really sure how much it is strengthening his neck.

2 Month Glider Picture

I almost forgot to post Carter's 2 month glider picture.  It is amazing how much they change in 1 month.

1 month

2 months....... He is such a happy baby now!

Carter's Baptism

Carter Steven got baptized Catholic on August 25th with Dana Kerns and Lee Brown as his godparents.  As tradition, he wore the outfit (although a little big) that all the Phillips boy cousins have worn for their baptism. He did really well and we are so blessed to have our religion and our God.

Carter Cooing

Over the last couple of weeks, Carter has not only started smiling a lot more, he is also doing some cooing and "talking" which we love!  Here is a recent video of him cooing!

Cody's Development

Mommy and Cody have spent a lot of time focused on Cody and his development and needs while she has been on maternity leave.  We got some much needed inserts put in his shoes to help with his coordination, he got his eyes evaluated for a possible right lazy eye, and we continue to do speech therapy with him each week.  We also got both of the boys frenulum's (the tissue underneath the tongue) clipped this summer as well to help with speech.  While there hasn't been the big jump in speech that we hoped for, Cody continues to add new words and phrases each week.  We are hopeful this will continue!

Daddy's Birthday

We got to spend some good quality time at the park for Daddy's birthday before he went to play golf.  It was a perfect afternoon!

We Finally Got our Happy Baby Back

Carter had a very colicky and unhappy second month of life.  After many days of constant crying by both baby and Mommy and him having trouble going poo (I will spare you the details but it wasn't pleasant), I made it my mission to figure out why Carter cried all the time and to bring my happy baby back.  After trying everything........ I mean EVERYTHING (e.g., new bottles, gas drops, 4 different formulas, even 2 chiropractic adjustments, removing multiple things from my diet because I was still nursing), we concluded Carter has a milk allergy and changed his formula and I continued to remove milk and products from my diet.  At about the 2 month mark, we finally got our happy baby back.  Here are some of my favorite smile pictures thus far and video of his smiles caught on tape!

Summer Fun

The Browns had a very active and fun summer between playing in our new swing set in the backyard, going to parks, the zoo, and the pool.  We also made some good memories in the backyard (hanging out under our favorite tree, water balloon games, and playing baseball).   I think Carter enjoys outside as much as Cody does.
