I Am Walking

Over the past week, Cody has really started walking.  He has gone from being able to take 5-6 steps to walking halfway across a room before falling.  Most of the time, he walks without even prompted to do so either.  Watch out world, Cody is really on the move.  Mommy and Daddy are about to have their hands really full.

Breakfast with Santa

Cody got to meet Santa Claus at Old Hickory Golf Club yesterday during a Breakfast With Santa.  He did better than we expected- he didn't give his usual "deer in headlights" look when we is in a new setting and he even smiled a little.  When Santa tried to give him a candy cane, he looked at him and froze.  Cody even made a new friend too- he is always flirting with the ladies!

My First Haircut

After a year of letting Cody's hair grow and the curls taking over, we finally got his hair cut.  One boy at daycare said "Cody has wings."  This was a picture right before he got his hair cut.

Here are a few shots during his haircut.  He did really well and didn't cry at all.  We had to get creative a little to get him to sit still, but overall it was a success.

And this is Cody showing off his new hairdo.  It is amazing how old he looks after getting rid of those curls.  My little boy is becoming a toddler quickly!

First Birthday Photo Session

Cody enjoyed his one year picture session, especially the end where he got to enjoy a Thanksgiving cookie made by Grandma.  He didn't want to sit still for the photos which made the session a little challenging.  All in all, we got some great shots to capture my growing boy!

Learning to Walk

For a while now, Cody has been able to push his shopping cart across the house.  It has really helped him learn to walk.

Wrestle With Reindeer

Cody loves to wrestle with his stuffed reindeer.  He body slams the reindeer and bites him.  It makes me laugh every time he does it.  My boy is a brute!

Christmas Is In the Air

Just thought I would share a few pictures of Cody and his cousins on the bench by the Christmas tree at Grandma's house.  I love this time of year!

Happy Thanksgiving

The Brown Family had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.  Cody turned 1 and we got to spend some great time with both sides of the family.  We are truly blessed in so many ways!

Happy Birthday Cody

Our little boy is one year old today.  It is Thanksgiving Day and Jon and I could not be more thankful today for the blessing that is Cody Paul Brown.  He brightens each and every day for us and we are so thankful to Christ Jesus for giving us Cody.  Here is a look at the past year and how Cody has grown in size and in spirits.

Happy Birthday Cody

It is hard to believe it has already been a year since our precious little Cody blessed our life.  What a great year it has been!  Cody had his first of two parties this weekend with his family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins).  Although he liked opening presents and playing with his new stuff, his favoritie part of the night was eating his first cake!  Mommy worked really hard on making Cody his first cake and Cody definitely appreciated it!

Daddy You Are Funny

It is so fun and priceless to do something silly and your son really gets a kick out of it.  So you find yourself doing the same silly thing like 20 times so he will keep laughing.  Here is a classic example.  Enjoy!

Almost Walking

Watch as Cody uses his new cart/car to stroll down the hallway.  One step closer to our little man walking!

Fun In The Leaves

Nothing better on a Fall day than playing in the leaves.  Yes, I raked a pile of leaves in the backyard just so we could play in it!  Cody had a great time!

Brushing My Teeth

Since Cody now has 7 teeth, thought it was time to buy him a big boy tooth brush and teach him how to brush his own teeth.  He is picking up the concept really well (although he still seems to want to put everything in his mouth)!

Happy Halloween

As you can see by the smiles, Cody really enjoyed his first Halloween and his Tigger costume.  He did some trick or treating to a few of the neighbor houses and helped hand out candy.

Pumpkin 5K Run

Mommy ran in her first 5K this weekend accompanied by Cody and Daddy.  It was a beautiful morning for a run and we all had a great time!  Look at that cute hat Cody is wearing!

Help In the Kitchen

Recently Cody loves to be with Mommy while she does things in the kitchen.  He often tries to climb into the dishwasher when I am loading/unloading it.  As soon as the refrigerator opens, he is right there ready to help Mommy get things out, his favorite being the milk.  He also has been known to get out some pots and pans and bang them with a wooden spoon.  It makes cooking time lots of fun having such a helpful son!

We Are the Champions

Cody was just as happy as Mommy and Daddy to see the Cardinals win the World Series.  Throughout the last couple of weeks, whenever Mommy would chant "Go Cardinals" Cody would get so excited and sometimes giggle.  He looks so adorable in his Cardinals gear!

I Love Food

If there is one thing Cody loves and gets so excited about, it would be food!  I made spaghetti the other night and Cody had his first attempt at feeding himself with plate and utensils.  He had a ball (although not sure now much actually made it into his mouth) and was covered in spaghetti when he was done!

11 Months Old

Cody is another month older and is so happy most of the time.  These days, he is a very busy little boy who tries to get into everything and is not afraid of anything!  We are so blessed to have such a sweet boy!

Friends and Family Fun at the Bockhorst Farm

The kids played together....... Cody and Ella are two of a kind.

We relaxed in the hammock........

The boys shot some guns................

And drank beer........

We deep fryed a turkey over an open fire, had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, and had a great time around the campfire that night............

In the morning, the kids had a great time playing together!  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful weekend weather wise and we are so fortunate to have such great friends!

Let's Go Cardinals

As the Cardinals are headed to the World Series this year, thought I would share a few of my favorite pics of Cody in his Cardinals gear.  He loves watching the Cardinals win just like Mommy and Daddy.  Let's go Cards!
