Carter Steven got baptized Catholic on August 25th with Dana Kerns and Lee Brown as his godparents. As tradition, he wore the outfit (although a little big) that all the Phillips boy cousins have worn for their baptism. He did really well and we are so blessed to have our religion and our God.

Carter Cooing
Over the last couple of weeks, Carter has not only started smiling a lot more, he is also doing some cooing and "talking" which we love! Here is a recent video of him cooing!
Cody's Development
Mommy and Cody have spent a lot of time focused on Cody and his development and needs while she has been on maternity leave. We got some much needed inserts put in his shoes to help with his coordination, he got his eyes evaluated for a possible right lazy eye, and we continue to do speech therapy with him each week. We also got both of the boys frenulum's (the tissue underneath the tongue) clipped this summer as well to help with speech. While there hasn't been the big jump in speech that we hoped for, Cody continues to add new words and phrases each week. We are hopeful this will continue!
Daddy's Birthday
We got to spend some good quality time at the park for Daddy's birthday before he went to play golf. It was a perfect afternoon!
We Finally Got our Happy Baby Back
Carter had a very colicky and unhappy second month of life. After many days of constant crying by both baby and Mommy and him having trouble going poo (I will spare you the details but it wasn't pleasant), I made it my mission to figure out why Carter cried all the time and to bring my happy baby back. After trying everything........ I mean EVERYTHING (e.g., new bottles, gas drops, 4 different formulas, even 2 chiropractic adjustments, removing multiple things from my diet because I was still nursing), we concluded Carter has a milk allergy and changed his formula and I continued to remove milk and products from my diet. At about the 2 month mark, we finally got our happy baby back. Here are some of my favorite smile pictures thus far and video of his smiles caught on tape!
Summer Fun
The Browns had a very active and fun summer between playing in our new swing set in the backyard, going to parks, the zoo, and the pool. We also made some good memories in the backyard (hanging out under our favorite tree, water balloon games, and playing baseball). I think Carter enjoys outside as much as Cody does.

Thumb Sucker
Carter, like mommy and daddy when they were little, has taken a liking to his thumb. Pretty much whenever he does tummy time, he likes to find his thumb and suck on it. Hopefully he doesn't become addicted and want to suck his thumb until he is like 4 (that is when mommy and daddy stopped). Regardless, it is adorable!
Sleeping in His Own Room
Here is a picture of Carter's first time in his own bed. He lasted about a month in mommy and daddy's room. After getting over his cold and not nursing adequately (similar to his brother), it was decided to move Carter to his own room so everyone would sleep better.
Cody Loves His Little Brother
Cody has become quite the little helper with his little brother. Whether it is getting mommy "baby's milk", sticking a pacifier in Carter's mouth when he is fussy, or "swinging" Carter in his swing, he is adjusting nicely to his brother and is very protective of him too. He recently pushed a kid at the babysitter and said "My Baby" when he got too close to Carter.
